WHAT IS THE CAPA ENTERTAINER DATABASE? 

This is a listing of entertainment professionals for Chicagoland area Senior Care homes, facilities and communities.  This is a public listing so we also make our database available to area libraries, community centers  and the general public should they be looking for entertainment.  Anyone can browse this list, even though it is aimed toward the Senior Care Entertainment Industry!

WHO SHOULD BE A DATABASE MEMBER?

If you are an entertainer who performs for (or wants to perform for) local Chicagoland Senior Citizen population, who understands the special needs of Senior communities and wants to bring a great entertainment experience to Seniors everywhere, then being a part of this listing is for you.

WHO IS THE DATABASE FOR / WHO LOOKS AT THE LISTINGS?

Specifically, this is a database of entertainers available to and in use by the members of the Chicagoland Activity Professionals Association (aka CAPA).  ​The members of CAPA are the actual activity professionals (think Activity Directors and Life Enrichment Professionals) who work in Assisted Living, Skilled Care, Memory Care or other Nursing Facilities or organize entertainment for Independent Living Communities or other type of Senior Facilities.   CAPA consists of many different types of members who provide activity services to Seniors, but the CAPA members who would use the Entertainer Database are basically the "Hiring People" who are interested in booking entertainers like you for their residents' entertainment.  In other words, they are the people you want to get in front of! **

DO THEY BOOK ME THROUGH THE DATABASE / WILL YOU BE MY BOOKING AGENT?

No. This is just a database.  We simply provide a place for a prospective purchaser of entertainment to find a list of entertainers who specialize in entertainment for the senior population. Then, the prospective purchaser contacts the entertainer themselves directly. 

We don't manage any individual or group. We are not a manager, agent or promoter.  We are simply providing a platform for the entertainer to be seen and found by our CAPA Members or other activity directors.

WHAT EXACTLY DO I GET WITH MY 'LISTING'?

If you browse our current active Datebase Listings, you can see what an individual listing page looks like.  Some "old school" entertainers use this as their go-to About Me webpage because they have no other web presence. More internet savvy entertainers use this as a jumping off point for folks to reach them through their own, individualized social media channels. Any way you decide to use this listing, the listing details are all the same:

 

• Individual listing webpage with your own image, description and links suitable for sharing

• One media image

• One paragraph describing your Entertainment in detail

• Contact information - all your relevant contact info should be listed here

• Social Media Links - We can list as many of your personal social media links as you like

• Pricing information - We used to list specific dollar amounts,  but now we will be using a "price range" instead so it is less confusing and prompts more booking inquiries

• One free "Featured Entertainer Ad" per year in the  CAPA Newsletter which goes out to all of our CAPA Members (aka your buyers*)

• The opportunity to participate in the triennial "every-three-years" Entertainer Showcase at a reduced fee

• Occasionally we make available a 10 minute "showcase" for you to display your talent/ability/programs at the monthly CAPA meeting as members arrive and check-in for the meeting. This would be a chance to be seen by purchasers and get in front of several Activity Directors at once. Facetime in this game is important! (This is unpaid, but a benefit we worked out for you).  An email will go out to all database members as these opportunities become available and are filled on a first come first served basis.

WHAT'S THE COST FOR ME TO GET A LISTING?

The listings are FREE for entertainers! There is no charge currently for an entertainer to be listed on the database.  This may change in the future,  but for now, the price is free.  CAPA members may share their opinions of entertainers they have hired to other CAPA members, so it's a good idea to be at your best at all times.
